2. Congratulations to Vicki Wynne-Parry, Winner of the Apple Watch!

Thank you to all who took action on the recent NAR Call for Action to stop Patent Trolls. Congratulations to Vicki Wynne-Parry from the West Michigan Lakeshore Association of Realtors®, who participated in the Call For Action and is the winner of a new Apple Watch! NAR continues to work toward patent reform as part of a coalition and remains vigilant on voicing the need for a solution to legislators on Capitol Hill.

As work continues on Patent reform, another federal issue has the real estate industry uniting in one voice as Congress looks for funding for transportation programs. Please “Take Action” below on the latest NAR Call for Action, to prevent the federal government from placing any unnecessary long-term burden on American homeowners!

Stop Congress from Taking Money From Homeowners

This Thursday, October 22nd, the House of Representatives Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will begin consideration on the surface transportation reauthorization legislation. One proposal would use Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s credit risk guarantee fees (g-fees) to fund transportation programs. NAR strongly believes that taking g-fees would also prevent Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from effectively managing their risk. TAKE ACTION NOW to prevent Congress from placing an unnecessary long-term burden on American homeowners!

3. Property Access Addendum Now Available

Potential buyers should not be permitted to view properties without a real estate licensee physically present unless the sellers have specifically authorized such access in writing. Michigan Realtors® has prepared a listing agreement addendum which specifically addresses the question of whether such access will be permitted.
