VIOLATION STATION: Kelly Shonborn, IAR's Senior Staff Counsel, normally presents you with the quarterly feature "Violation Station" quarterly. As of this edition of the Indiana REALTOR® Advocate, no punishments have been handed down by the Real Estate Commission during the second quarter of 2012.  Next edition of Violation Station will appear in October.

Broker Transition Course Update 

24-hour Broker Transition CourseRECP is planning to begin enrolling students in its 24-hour broker transition course in mid-July.  The course will be offered in several convenient formats: live throughout Indiana, live online and OnDemand.  Course schedules and prices will be available soon. RECP is awaiting approval of the course by the Indiana Real Estate Commission, which will not grant final approval of the course until its next meeting on July 11th.

Congress Extends Flood Insurance for 5 Years

REALTOR AdvocacyCongress has passed a five-year extension of the national flood insurance program and President Obama is expected to sign it into law in the coming week.

This is the culmination of a successful multi-year REALTOR® campaign and a final push at the 2012 NAR Midyear Legislative Rally and Meetings.  Find out details about the extension here.
