Java No Longer Needed to Access IAR Forms –
zipForm® Plus to Launch mid-July in Member Accounts

IAR is pleased to announce that zipForm® Plus will soon be available to members, enabling access to forms WITHOUT Java. While this will be welcome news to many, everyone should be glad to know there will be no transition period with the new version. Once launched, those who want to use zipForm® Plus will log-in as usual and simply click on the appropriate tab. Those who do not want to use zipForm® Plus will log-in as usual and work in zipForm® 6 as usual. And those who just want to try zipForm® Plus can do so with the security of knowing they can switch back to zipForm® 6 at any time with the simple click of a tab and without losing any transaction data.

Take a sneak peek of zipForm® Plus here:

RECP

New Curriculum Established for Legacy Brokers –
Take 8-hour Class Live or Online from RECP for just $49
The Indiana Real Estate Commission (IREC) recently extended the license renewal deadline for legacy brokers – those who were licensed as a broker on June 30, 2012 – from June 30 of this year to June 30, 2014. With that deadline extension, came an additional continuing education (C.E.) requirement:  8 hours of new curriculum to be completed after July 1 of this year and before the new license renewal deadline of June 30, 2014. The IREC has established the new curriculum to include four content areas – Indiana License Law; Escrow, Earnest and E&O; Negotiations; and Fair Housing. RECP is now offering a live and online/on-demand class for just $49 to help legacy brokers fulfill their additional 8-hour C.E. requirement. Visit www.RECP.org or call 1-800-742-4067 for more information and to register.

Legacy brokers also need to complete 16 C.E. hours – 6 mandatory and 10 elective – of the old curriculum before the new license renewal deadline (June 30, 2014), just as they would have prior to the 2012 license law update and the old license renewal deadline (June 30 of this year). C.E. completed after July 1, 2011, is eligible. RECP is now offering a live, two-day class at a variety of locations around the state for just $99, as well as an online/on-demand class to help legacy brokers fulfill this requirement.

This memo from IAR explains why the IREC extended the deadline and the full impact on legacy brokers.

RECP Answers Your Questions:
Q
:  I’m a broker and already obtained my 16 hours of continuing education. What else will I need to complete before I renew prior to June 30, 2014?

A:  Congratulations on completing your 16 hours of continuing education. Now you will only need to complete 8 additional hours of continuing education before renewing on June 30, 2014. These 8 hours must be different courses than the 16 hours you have already completed and include the state-mandated Indiana License Law course. RECP offers an 8-hour CE package for just $49 that meets all the state requirements.
