Oregon REALTORS® to Gather at Capitol

REALTOR® Rally at the Capitol is quickly approaching! On April 4th, 2013, hundreds of REALTORS® will be converging upon the State Capitol to show support for the real estate industry and have an opportunity to engage with legislators. 2013 Legislative Session Underway

On Monday, February 4th, the 77th Oregon Legislative Assembly reconvened the 2013 Legislative Session. To date, in addition to the 1,200 plus legislative proposals that were made public for the first time during the organizational days in January, there have been an additional 150 bills introduced since February 4th. Of the 1,350 bills introduced thus far, the Oregon Association of REALTORS® has identified roughly 190 bills that affect the real estate industry. Read more ›

Federal Housing Administration Changes

In response to an independent audit late last year that showed the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) has an economic value of negative $13.48 billion, HUD announced that a series of rule changes were released this week which included an increase in the cost of an FHA loan. Seller Signature Implications in Short Sales

Q: I've seen some differing practices from listing brokers involving short sales. Some brokers have the sellers sign/accept all offers before forwarding to the bank for approval, while other brokers do not have the seller sign. If the listing broker does not have the seller sign the offer prior to submitting to the bank, what does the buyer actually have? How do we know the buyer's offer was actually presented to the seller?
