Oregon Senate Votes to Preserve Access to Seller Financing

Yesterday, Wednesday, May 22nd,  House Bill 2856-A passed the Senate floor with a unanimous vote of the members present. This legislation now heads for the Governor's desk to be signed into law. Introduced at the request of the Oregon Association of REALTORS®, this legislation would allow an individual to offer or negotiate up to 3 mortgages in a 12-month period on residential properties they own without having to obtain a mortgage loan originators license. This legislation would still require compliance with all of the current consumer protection laws found in the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and the Truth in Lending Act.

Pursuing the Buyer's Acknowledgment
on the Sale Agreement

Q: We are representing the seller. We have a closed deal and after repeated requests to the buyer's broker, we still do not have a buyer's acknowledgment on the sale agreement. Will this lack of acknowledgment be acceptable to the Real Estate Agency if we get audited? Read Answer ›
