Vote Realtor® Party: Watch for Your Realtor® Voter Card in the Mail!

The Michigan Realtors®, in conjunction with an extraordinary effort by many local associations, has made endorsements for candidates running for State Senate and the Michigan House of Representatives. Watch your mailbox in the coming weeks for your Realtor® voter guide card in the mail to use as a reference at the polls this year. The voter guide card displays endorsed candidates on the state and federal levels in your area who support real estate industry issues, such as:

  • the protection of private property rights,
  • preserving the American dream of home ownership,
  • and continuing the fight for tax reforms and reducing of burdensome regulations on our business.

Make this the year that you protect your business by becoming more involved! Take a look at who’s running for office in your community and research what they stand for. Establish a connection with the candidates and talk with them about policy issues affecting your business. When your candidate is elected, you will have a voice in the legislative arena that knows you.

The Michigan Realtors® will have a listing of all our state and federal endorsed candidates on our website this Friday, October 17th. Please check here

Stay connected with your elected officials so they can come to you on issues that pertain to the real estate industry. And, most importantly, vote on November 4th!

Legal Lines – Question of the Month
With the help of McClelland & Anderson, we are taking the most recently asked questions from our legal hotline and putting them in E-news. We will be featuring a different question each issue.

Prior to their death, my parents deeded their cabin to my brother and me as “joint tenants with rights of survivorship.”  Can I deed my interest in the cabin to my daughter?

Yes, but your daughter’s interest in the cabin will automatically terminate upon your death unless you outlive your brother.
