1. Michigan Realtors® Converge on the Nation’s Capital
Nearly 8,500 Realtors® from across the country convened in Washington, D.C., last week to attend the Realtors® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo. Over 185 members from across Michigan met with U.S. Senators and congressional staff on Capitol Hill to advocate policies that protect and advance investment in residential and commercial property and that are critical to buyers, sellers and investors in their communities. Watch for the full story in the upcoming June issue of Michigan Realtor® Magazine.

2. The Michigan Realtors® honored in Washington, D.C.
May 2015: Washington D.C. – The Michigan Realtors® was recognized by the NAR for its Centennial with a certificate of appreciation during the Legislative Meetings Leadership Luncheon. As part of a year-long celebration, over 200 Michigan Realtors® will descend upon Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island from June 7-9 to honor the Association’s history and accomplishments. In other great news from the luncheon, Michigan Realtors® CEO, Robert Campau, Esq., was inducted into the Dr. Almon R. (Bud) Smith, RCE, AE Leadership Society. The society recognizes leading contributors to the real estate industry and the profession.
3. Homeowner Safety & Security Toolkit
Realtors® care about the experience clients have well after a home purchase or sale. This toolkit provides Realtor® associations with the context, materials, and best practices to get the word out about homeowner safety and security, including home security tips for new homeowners, homeowner crime prevention tips as weather gets warmer, and homeowner crime prevention tips while on vacation.
4. 2016 District Director Elections – Nominations Open Until July 17
There are eight districts holding elections this year for district director: 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12 and 13. If you are interested in running, nominations will be held open until July 17, 2015.
5. $8,000 in Scholarships Awarded in 2014!
The Michigan Realtors® Scholarship Trust fund provides scholarships to full-time undergraduate and graduate students who are taking classes that will lead them to a real estate career. Do you know an eligible student? Applications are due by July 1, 2015.
