Lottery Open for May Meetings
You all should have received an
email earlier this week notifying you that the housing lottery is now open for
the NAR Realtor Legislative Meetings and Trade Expo, taking place May
15-20, 2017. NAR has blocked rooms for
attendees at 15 other hotels in Washington, DC. However, demand for rooms at
the two Headquarter Hotels – the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel and Omni Shoreham
Hotel – exceeds the number of rooms available. In order to assign rooms at
these hotels as conveniently and equitably as possible, NAR uses a housing
If you would like to try for a
room at one of the headquarter hotels, please register and take advantage of
the opportunity afforded you as FPC to participate in the lottery system. The
hotel lottery will close January 27 at 5:00pm CST.

2017 President’s Circle Reminder
Circle launched its first round of targets for 2017 to President’s Circle
members earlier this month. During this round, President’s Circle members may
invest $500 in one of the four national party committees in honor of any Member
of Congress. FPCs have the option of contributing $500 directly to the Member of
Congress they serve as FPC. (An FPC must choose either a
$500 contribution to their Member of Congress OR a National Party Committee –
they cannot do both).
FPCs Leading the Way with President's Circle
Did you know 168 FPCs
are already 2017 President’s Circle members (up from 147 last year)? That’s 31% of you
who are taking advantage of this unique opportunity! You further strengthen the
REALTOR® Party beyond what we can do with RPAC dollars alone by investing directly in the Member of
Congress you serve as FPC.

Supreme Court to Hear WOTUS Case
The Supreme Court has agreed to take
up the dispute over which lower courts have jurisdiction to hear challenges to
the Obama administration's Clean Water Rule. The Court will reconsider the
6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals' decision to hear legal challenges over the
rule, which is also known as Waters of the U.S., or WOTUS. More than 30 states
and many industry and farm groups, including NAR, have challenged the
joint U.S. EPA-Army Corps of Engineers rule redefining what waterways and
wetlands receive protection under the Clean Water Act. …… Read More
FHA Lowers Premiums
Last week, the Federal Housing Administration (FHA)

basis points. This reduction is a victory for the National Association of
REALTORS® whose members have called for lower fees on FHA loans given the
ongoing strength of the Mutual Mortgage Insurance Fund, which exceeded the
required reserve ratio for the second year in a row. To read more on this issue,
